This machine is an injection molding machine which has a clamping force of 150 tons and maximum injection capacity upto 801 gm. The injection rate is 405 cc/sec. The plasticizing
capacity (PET) is 85g/sec. This is a high speed process. This machine has a lot of design
a. Application- Semi finished product for making of bottle
b. Size, Weight and Design- PET Preforms vary in shape and size based on its application.
The 4 major types of preforms are-
i)Weight of Preform 9.3g +/- 0.2g (250 ml)
ii)Weight of Preform-12.8g +/- 0.2g (500 ml)
iii) Weight of Preform 19.3g +/-0.2g (1L)
iv)Weight of preform 32g +/- 0.2 g(2L)
However, the hot plate moulds for the above preforms can be accompanied by different core
plates for obtaining preforms of different weights. There are different preforms for the
purpose of pharmaceutical bottles, containers etc.
